Dave remains responsible for setting and driving Activata’s strategy through extensive network distribution, robust technologies and a comprehensive product set comprising major brands.
In his early years working for leading telco companies, Dave drove enormous expansion of phone cards in New Zealand by marketing phone cards to the public beyond the traditional student, tourist and migrant market.
His early recognition of the gift card opportunity within New Zealand led Ezi-Pay to deliver the country’s first gift card malls into high foot traffic retail locations in time for Christmas trading in 2007, less than 8 months after the idea’s conception.
Dave’s wide ranging strategic skills have seen him successfully develop a number of companies within the competitive industries of electricity (Director Empower Ltd, now owned by Contact Energy), telecommunications (National Sales Manager, Telstra NZ) and Eftpos (MD, Netco, purchased by Provenco) solutions.See Dave on LinkedIn
Phil has worked for over 11 years’ in the payments industry and has many years of sales and sales management in various industries from office equipment, information security and Vodka, Phil helped to establish 42 BELOW in the Australia/ New Zealand market.
Phil’s role encompasses the management of our key supplier and content partner relationships. During his 4 year stint at Ezi-Pay, Phil was integral to the successful delivery of the Gift Station and to its ongoing success, by establishing relationships with and delivering value to significant brands as both content providers and vending outlets.
Phil’s sales and management skills, combined with his experience in prepay at both Ezi-Pay and more recently as New Zealand Business Manager with InComm, the American market leader in prepay, leave him ideally placed to assist New Zealand businesses to use prepay to their best advantage.See Phil on LinkedIn
Mal is responsible for the sales, account management and merchandising team who have taken care of the thousands of convenience stores in our network since the inception of Ezi-Pay (now Activata).
Relationship management and a strong “can do” attitude are central to the high degree of retailer and team loyalty and retention Activata has enjoyed through Mal’s strong and professional approach and leadership.

Shyam has worked in the telecommunications industry for over 10 years. His experience ranges from Product Development, to VOIP System and Solution Designs for Business customers. He enjoys being out in the field working with customers onsite and has a real hands on approach to his work. He is passionate about providing great service and ensuring customer satisfaction for his clients.
Shyam’s current role as Operations Manager has him overseeing the operational side of the Activata Business, managing the support, provisioning and warehousing teams. In his spare time you could find him either on the football field, or at his local driving range.
